Only a Stable Government Can Address Delhi's Challenges, Not a Temporary CM: Alka Lamba

New Delhi, Jan 5 (NationPress) Alka Lamba, the Congress candidate from Delhi's Kalkaji constituency, has voiced strong criticism against Chief Minister Atishi. She emphasized that only a stable and accountable government, rather than a 'temporary CM', is capable of addressing the pressing issues of the national capital.
In a discussion with IANS, Alka Lamba expressed her optimism about her electoral prospects and took aim at both of her adversaries. She labeled AAP’s Atishi as a “temporary Chief Minister” and made pointed remarks regarding BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri for his controversial actions.
“I am certain that my three decades of dedication, integrity, and activism—having been born and raised in Delhi—will resonate with the electorate. My goal is to gain the trust of the Kalkaji residents and offer them lasting solutions to their challenges,” she stated.
She further underscored that Delhi’s urgent problems require long-term, sustainable solutions rather than temporary measures.
Lamba noted, “The issues we confront, including pollution, polluted Yamuna water, escalating crime rates, inflation, and unemployment, can only be effectively handled by a stable and accountable government. A temporary Chief Minister lacks the capacity to solve these challenges. The assertions made by AAP’s leadership do not align with the realities faced by the residents of Kalkaji and other areas. Kalkaji should have evolved into a model constituency; however, its condition has worsened instead.”
Pointing out the specific challenges in Kalkaji, she remarked, “Roads are continuously under repair, parking problems are ongoing, traffic congestion is severe, and garbage is strewn everywhere. Both the BJP and AAP have let down the people of Kalkaji, failing to fulfill their promises.”
Lamba also launched a fierce critique of BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri, stating, “Despite the BJP's decade-long tenure in power, the locals remain discontent. Now, a candidate like Ramesh Bidhuri, whose language and behavior in both Parliament and public arenas are utterly unacceptable, has been put forth. His offensive conduct disqualifies him from being a public representative. Kalkaji deserves superior leadership, someone genuinely committed to addressing and solving the constituency’s challenges permanently.”
The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has nominated CM Atishi for the Kalkaji constituency in the forthcoming Delhi Assembly elections, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has put forth former Member of Parliament Ramesh Bidhuri. The Congress has selected Alka Lamba as its candidate, setting the stage for a fiercely contested electoral battle.
