Ramesh Bidhuri Targets Atishi, Claims She Has Altered Her Father's Identity; Kejriwal Criticizes BJP

New Delhi, Jan 5 (NationPress) As the Delhi Assembly elections draw near, BJP's candidate for the Kalkaji seat, Ramesh Bidhuri, has ignited a significant political uproar with his contentious remarks. Following a provocative comment aimed at Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Bidhuri has now turned his attention toward Delhi Chief Minister Atishi.
During a rally in Delhi, Ramesh Bidhuri declared, "Atishi has altered her father's identity. She was once Marlena, and now she identifies as Singh. Her parents had submitted a plea for clemency on behalf of Afzal Guru, the individual responsible for the deaths of numerous young people.
AAP's national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, sharply criticized these comments in a post on X, stating, "BJP leaders have surpassed all boundaries of decency. They are employing vile language against Delhi's Chief Minister Atishi. The citizens of Delhi will not stand for the humiliation of a female Chief Minister. All the women of Delhi will seek retribution for this.
Previously, Ramesh Bidhuri had made a contentious remark regarding Priyanka Gandhi, further fueling the political fire.
He remarked, "I will create a road as smooth as Priyanka Gandhi's cheek." In light of the backlash, Bidhuri later issued a clarification, expressing, "If my comments have offended any maternal figures, sisters, or anyone else, I sincerely apologize. We hold women in high regard. However, I also assert that Congress and AAP should first reflect on their declining political circumstances.
AAP's chief spokesperson, Priyanka Kakkar, also voiced her distress over Bidhuri's statements.
She conveyed a message in Hindi on X, stating: "If he can utilize derogatory terms for a female Chief Minister, just imagine his treatment towards an ordinary woman if, by chance, Ramesh Bidhuri becomes an MLA. The BJP is disparaging women because they will unconditionally support their son and brother (Arvind Kejriwal). Ramesh Bidhuri will face a significant defeat at the hands of this female Chief Minister.
The BJP has nominated Bidhuri from the Kalkaji assembly constituency, where CM Atishi currently serves as an MLA.
The Congress party has chosen Alka Lamba as its candidate to oppose the AAP leader in this constituency.
With two prominent figures contesting against Atishi, the upcoming assembly elections are anticipated to be a three-way battle, with the election date expected to be announced soon.
