New Delhi, Jan 23 (NationPress) BJP candidate from Kalkaji, Ramesh Bidhuri, has lodged a complaint with election authorities, alleging that AAP candidate and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Marlena is making groundless claims and employing paid staff to sow discord in the constituency.

In his complaint, Bidhuri stated, “Atishi Marlena has brought in hired workers from other Assembly areas for her campaign. These individuals are causing public disturbances and misbehaving with my party members. Fearing an impending loss, she has turned to filing baseless complaints to coerce the administration and intimidate my supporters with threats of misleading legal actions.”

Bidhuri stressed that the Indian Constitution requires free, fair, and transparent elections with an equitable environment. He claimed that CM Atishi’s allegations were unsupported by any evidence, including audio-visual materials or statements from independent witnesses.

He made specific reference to a complaint lodged by CM Atishi against his supporter, Manish Bidhuri. “The video she refers to does not show Manish Bidhuri at the location. Additionally, she has disseminated a forged video to damage my reputation and sway the election. I have already reported this issue to the Kalkaji police station,” Bidhuri remarked.

Furthermore, he accused CM Atishi of utilizing false allegations to disrupt the peaceful electoral atmosphere, which he claimed contravenes the stipulations of the BNS, 2024.

Bidhuri urged the Election Commission to direct the Station House Officers (SHOs) of Govindpuri and Kalkaji to take action against those making false claims.

The controversy centers around a video released by CM Atishi, where she alleged that Bidhuri’s nephew threatened AAP workers during a campaign. She also accused the police of coercing AAP workers into signing false statements.

Earlier, speaking to IANS, Bidhuri stated, "Atishi has no campaign workers and has not managed to hold a single meeting in her constituency, particularly in areas like Gali No. 8 to 16. The roads are in disrepair, and the sewers are unattended. If she truly had workers, she could produce at least one photo from any meeting she’s conducted."

He further criticized her tactics, asserting, "She has gained the title ‘cake minister’ for merely attending children’s birthday parties with cakes. That has been her most notable activity lately."

The Congress has nominated Alka Lamba from Kalkaji, turning this into a three-way contest in this high-stakes battle. Voting is set for February 5, with the counting of votes scheduled for February 8.
