New Delhi, Jan 14 (NationPress) The Delhi BJP has leveled serious allegations against Chief Minister Atishi and her associates, claiming they misappropriated government vehicles for their personal campaign. This accusation comes as the Kalkaji District Election Officer (DEO) has registered an FIR concerning the alleged misuse of a PWD van to transport the CM’s posters.

During a press conference, South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri asserted that the BJP’s district vice-president in Kalkaji spotted a government van on January 7, delivering posters and flags for CM Atishi at her office located in Govindpuri Gali number 30.

“The AAP, which prides itself on being a party of integrity, is engaging in blatant violations of the Model Code of Conduct. There is a significant disparity between their rhetoric and their actual actions,” Bidhuri claimed, noting that the incident took place in his parliamentary jurisdiction.

The occurrence in Govindpuri followed the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct after the electoral announcement on January 7, he added.

In response, CM Atishi rejected the accusations, asserting that lower-level election officials were being coerced to target the AAP, while also questioning the bias of the police.

“When we lodge a complaint against the BJP’s New Delhi candidate Parvesh Verma for distributing freebies, no action is taken, with claims of an ongoing inquiry. However, in my situation, an FIR was registered without any investigation,” she stated to reporters following her nomination submission.

Bidhuri previously mentioned, “The PWD van was caught in the act by BJP district vice-president K.S. Duggal, who alerted senior party leaders, leading to a formal complaint with the DEO.”

“A formal complaint has been lodged against Atishi, and she ought to accept moral accountability by stepping away from politics and withdrawing from the election in the Kalkaji constituency,” he remarked.

“The AAP makes unfounded accusations against BJP leaders, yet we ensure that each complaint we file is thoroughly investigated,” he added.

Sanket Gupta, a member of the BJP's legal team, emphasized the severity of the situation given Atishi's position as Chief Minister.

“This incident reflects the AAP's hypocrisy. Such a serious infringement of the MCC was committed by Atishi even before she filed her nomination papers,” he stated.

“The ECI stipulates that government resources, including official vehicles and personnel, must not be used for the benefit of the ruling party,” he outlined.

Following an investigation, the Kalkaji SHO has initiated action against PWD engineer Sanjay Kumar, indicating that Atishi's name will also be added to the FIR.

“We urge the ECI to promptly address such misuse of governmental resources across Delhi,” he concluded.
