Delhi CM Atishi Accuses BJP's Parvesh Verma of Cash Distribution; Verma Hits Back

New Delhi, Dec 25 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Wednesday endorsed Kejriwal's allegations of 'cash distribution' in his constituency, directly accusing BJP leader and former West Delhi MP Parvesh Verma. While addressing the media, the CM charged that the former BJP MP was giving cash to voters prior to the forthcoming elections in the capital.

Atishi claimed that women voters from impoverished areas were receiving Rs 1,100 in cash along with pamphlets featuring images of Parvesh Verma, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President J.P. Nadda, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

She alleged that this distribution was occurring at Parvesh Verma's official residence located at 20 Windsor Place.

"Women voters were summoned to Verma's government bungalow. Their voter IDs were verified, a form was completed, and Rs 1,100 was given in an orange envelope," Atishi stated.

She further mentioned that the AAP intends to file a complaint with the Election Commission shortly.

"The BJP has been caught red-handed in the act of distributing money. Crores of rupees in cash are reportedly stored at Parvesh Verma's residence. The ED, CBI, and Delhi Police must conduct a raid on his home immediately to expose the BJP's desperate measures to win a lost election," Atishi asserted.

In response to these shocking allegations, Parvesh Verma denied all accusations from AAP leaders and clarified that the funds were part of a welfare program administered by the Rashtriya Swabhiman organization, founded by his father 25 years ago.

He elaborated that the initiative was aimed at assisting women from underprivileged communities who are without access to pensions, ration cards, or adequate healthcare.

"I take pride in supporting my less fortunate mothers and sisters. This effort is not political. It is regrettable that Kejriwal and Atishi have chosen to politicize it," Verma stated.

He further criticized AAP, saying, "At least I am not distributing liquor. During the Covid crisis, when Delhi required hospitals and medicines, Kejriwal was preoccupied with distributing free liquor and constructing his 'Sheesh Mahal.' In contrast, I established Covid centers, provided oxygen concentrators, and contributed to saving thousands of lives."

Verma accused AAP of deceiving voters with false pledges. He referred to the recently announced Mahila Samman Yojana, under which AAP promised to grant Rs 2100 to women after the elections.

"This is a scam. Even the Delhi government's own advertisement confirms that no such scheme has been sanctioned. AAP made similar commitments in Punjab three years ago but failed to fulfill them. Why postpone until after the elections? Nothing prevents Kejriwal from executing the scheme now," Verma remarked.

He accused AAP of exploiting women's issues for electoral gain.

"Women have voted for Kejriwal three times, yet they continue to lack basic necessities like pensions, clean drinking water, and healthcare. I challenge him to match my efforts in aiding women. It is unfortunate that AAP is soliciting votes even before carrying out their promises," he added.

The exchange of words underscores the escalating conflict between BJP and AAP as the Delhi elections draw near. While AAP accuses BJP of monetary inducements for votes, BJP has criticized AAP's promises as 'hollow and hypocritical'.

In the meantime, Atishi has called for immediate action from law enforcement against Verma, while the latter remains committed to his welfare initiatives despite the allegations.
