New Delhi, March 4 (NationPress) In reaction to a comment made by Rekha Gupta regarding former Chief Minister Atishi, AAP's ex-legislator Somnath Bharti urged the Delhi Chief Minister to concentrate more on effective governance and on delivering the commitments made during the elections.
Gupta had expressed concerns for AAP leader Atishi, implying that if Swati Maliwal was at risk, Atishi could also face similar threats.
Bharti criticized Gupta for her remarks instead of focusing on her own duties.
In a statement to IANS, Bharti remarked, "I wish to respectfully suggest that CM Rekha Gupta should prioritize her responsibilities. By making such comments, she demonstrates a lack of awareness of her duties. The promises made during the elections are what the citizens of Delhi are eagerly awaiting, and they expect their leaders to fulfill them."
He further pointed out that Gupta's statements appeared to divert attention from pressing matters that need addressing, asserting, "The people of Delhi are looking for the commitments made during the election campaigns to be honored."
"Rather than concentrating on governance, she is making statements like this, which indicate a deficiency in awareness and accountability. Hopes were raised during the elections, and now the public is anticipating those hopes to be actualized."
Regarding Atishi's inquiries towards the government, Bharti added, "Atishi Ji will persist in asking questions, and she does so with utmost respect. It is vital to respond to her inquiries respectfully as well. It is essential to adapt to this and comprehend that as the Leader of Opposition (LoP), she will continue to hold your party and government accountable."
Bharti also called upon CM Gupta to dedicate herself to her duties as Chief Minister and not to disappoint the residents of Delhi.
"You hold the esteemed position of Chief Minister of Delhi. Many others in your party did not receive this chance. Please do not let the people of Delhi down and fulfill your obligations," he concluded.
