Bihar: Bhagalpur Postmaster General Emphasizes Advantages of Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana

Bhagalpur (Bihar), Dec 4 (NationPress) The Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, established by the Central Government to secure the future of daughters, not only illuminates their future but also offers substantial assistance to parents for their education and marriage as they grow.
The Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY), a government-supported savings initiative, inspires parents to save for their daughter's educational journey.
Manoj Kumar, the Postmaster General of the Eastern Zone in Bihar’s Bhagalpur, discussed the scheme and outlined its numerous advantages.
In an interview with IANS, he remarked, "Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana is the optimal choice for families looking to secure their children's futures through safe investments, particularly for daughters. This scheme offers attractive interest rates, which are incredibly beneficial for their marriages or higher education. A favorable return is provided on the deposited amount, ensuring a secure future. The scheme is accessible in all post offices nationwide, including those in rural areas. Opening an account requires a minimal amount, and parents can make deposits in installments based on their financial capacity."
"We also offer various other small savings schemes, including savings bank accounts with interest rates that significantly surpass those of traditional banks. Our recurring deposit scheme allows individuals to make monthly contributions and earn good interest. Additionally, we provide a Monthly Income Scheme, enabling regular monthly income on the deposited funds," he added.
"Moreover, there is a special scheme for senior citizens that offers attractive returns on their investments. We can also facilitate the opening of provident funds in post offices, and our India Post Payment Bank makes account establishment straightforward. Only an Aadhaar card and mobile number are needed, with no additional documentation or photographs required. This allows for easy account setup and transactions using a thumb impression," Kumar stated.
He expressed, "The era of worrying about the birth of a daughter is over. Today, daughters are viewed as ‘Laxmi’ in households, bringing joy and happiness. Society is evolving, the country is progressing, and people's mindsets are changing. Families now consider the future of daughters alongside sons. The Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana is an excellent choice to ensure financial readiness for their marriages or higher education. This scheme is an outstanding option for parents."
"In our region, hundreds of accounts are being opened daily. We have initiated a special campaign to open Sukanya Samriddhi accounts linked with Aadhaar cards for children aged zero to five years. This initiative is being implemented in all districts. It encourages parents of girl children to not only obtain Aadhaar cards but also to open Sukanya Samriddhi accounts, ensuring a secure future for their daughters," Kumar concluded.
