Patna, Feb 2 (NationPress) The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) successfully carried out the inaugural day of the Class 12 board examinations on Saturday, taking place across 1,677 examination centres throughout the state.
The exams were conducted in two shifts, with robust security measures implemented to ensure a fair and streamlined process.
Despite the stringent oversight, 81 students were expelled for cheating. The highest number of incidents occurred in Sheikhpura, with 34 students expelled, followed by 25 in Madhepura, eight in Gopalganj, seven in Nawada, three in Saran, two in Vaishali, one in Patna, and one in Munger.
To combat malpractice, BSEB enforced frisking at two levels, the deployment of three-tier magistrates, a sufficient police presence, and CCTV surveillance.
Moreover, students were instructed to enter the exam centre one hour before the examination, with gates closing 30 minutes prior to the start.
The first shift commenced at 09:30 AM and concluded at 12:45 PM, with 50,465 students appearing for the Biology and Philosophy examinations.
The second shift took place from 02:00 PM to 05:15 PM for Economics, with a total of 75,281 candidates participating.
In Patna district, 85 examination centres were established, with 26,431 students sitting for Biology & Philosophy and 9,858 students for Economics.
A total of 152 model examination centres were created statewide, including four centres in each district exclusively for female candidates.
All invigilators, police personnel, and magistrates at these centres were women. Additionally, the centres were adorned with flowers, balloons, and carpets, and special help desks were set up for the convenience of female candidates.
Anand Kishore, Chairman of BSEB, conducted surprise inspections at several exam centres, including Government Girls’ High School, Shastrinagar, Government Boys’ High School, Shastrinagar, K.B. Sahay High School, Dayanand High School, Mithapur, and Dayanand Girls’ High School, Mithapur.
During his inspection, he evaluated the exam process alongside magistrates and centre superintendents to ensure strict adherence to board guidelines.
He also engaged with students within the examination halls to gauge their experience and obtain feedback on the question papers. The Intermediate Annual Examination 2025 is set to continue until February 15, 2025.
