Patna, Nov 11 (NationPress) As the second phase of the Bihar Assembly elections unfolds, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi made a heartfelt plea to the electorate to endorse the NDA to sustain the ongoing growth trajectory.
In an interview with IANS, Manjhi emphasized, “I urge the voters of Bihar to recognize that with the current double-engine government, we are shattering development records and executing commendable initiatives. It is crucial for the people to back the NDA to keep this positive momentum going. A misstep now could derail progress, halting all developmental efforts and leaving us in a difficult position. The advancement we have made, especially in regions previously known for Naxal activity, is significant. Today, we envision projects like constructing the banks of the Son River akin to the Marine Drive in Patna.”
“I encourage everyone to vote actively and aim for a voter turnout that surpasses the first phase, which occurred on November 6,” he added.
BJP leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain also shared similar views, noting the public’s eagerness for ongoing progress. “The electorate in Bihar is participating in large numbers because they do not wish for development to cease. I am confident that the NDA will reclaim power,” he stated.
The second round of voting in Bihar is taking place across 122 constituencies in 20 districts, with polling hours set from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. This phase is pivotal as it will greatly impact which political party or coalition governs the state.
Election officials have set up 45,399 polling stations to facilitate smooth voting, with heightened security at sensitive locations. Nearly 3.7 crore voters, comprising 1.95 crore men and 1.74 crore women, are eligible to cast their votes in this phase.
The vote counting for all 243 Assembly constituencies is slated for November 14, when the results will determine the next government of Bihar.
