Patna, Aug 4 (NationPress) The Bihar government, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has officially sanctioned the exhibition of 13 departmental tableaux for the upcoming state-level Independence Day festivities at Gandhi Maidan in Patna, scheduled for August 15.
These tableaux are set to showcase the government’s significant initiatives and landmark welfare schemes, many of which were introduced in an election year, making this year’s celebration both politically and publicly vital.
In a statement, Patna District Magistrate Dr. Thiyagarajan S.M. revealed that the tableaux will underscore the developmental achievements, public welfare programs, and social reform initiatives launched by the government.
Noteworthy schemes will receive special attention, including enhanced Social Security Pensions, provision of 125 units of free electricity for households, and the establishment of a skill university aimed at generating one crore employment opportunities.
These tableaux are designed to visually convey the government’s vision and accomplishments to the public, especially ahead of the forthcoming Assembly elections in Bihar.
To prioritize public safety, the maximum height for each tableau has been restricted to 15 feet.
The District Magistrate has mandated that all participating artists must be aged 15 years or older.
Additionally, department-specific nodal officers have been designated to oversee the adherence to these guidelines and ensure both the structural integrity and thematic accuracy of the tableaux.
Prominent departments and their themes will include the Panchayati Raj Department presenting the Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Mandap Yojana, the Energy Department showcasing full subsidies on 125 units of electricity and promoting solar energy, the Industries Department highlighting Bihar’s global handicraft exports, the Bihar State Sports Authority illustrating the colours of sports in Bihar, and the Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department featuring the Mukhyamantri Neera Samvardhan Yojana, among others.
Although tableaux are a traditional aspect of the Independence Day (August 15) and Republic Day (January 26) celebrations at Gandhi Maidan, this year’s event bears additional significance as it precedes the elections.
