New Delhi, Oct 22 (NationPress) With ongoing concerns regarding the internal unity of the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar, Purnea MP Pappu Yadav, a prominent figure within the coalition, stated on Wednesday that discussions on collaboration are advancing and that leaders are prepared to make any sacrifice to protect Bihar.
In a statement to the media, Yadav remarked, “A joint press conference is scheduled for tomorrow. The leadership will determine the course of action. We affirm that our leaders are willing to make any sacrifice. Our goal is for Bihar to thrive under all circumstances. A government under the INDIA bloc should be established in Bihar,” he declared.
Yadav also reiterated his endorsement of Rahul Gandhi as the emblematic leader of the coalition in Bihar.
“It is clear to me that we must participate in the elections under the guidance of Rahul Gandhi, regardless of the situation. The citizens of this state trust Rahul Gandhi's efforts,” he stated, reinforcing the Congress leader's significance within the electoral strategy of the alliance.
Congress MP Akhilesh Prasad Singh mentioned that influential national leaders would soon join the campaign.
“Rahul Gandhi will participate, Priyanka will also be involved, and all senior leaders will join the election campaign,” Singh confirmed.
In response to speculations about disagreements over seat allocations, senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot minimized claims of discord.
“There are no significant disputes here. With 243 seats in play, it’s typical for a large alliance to have minor differences over 5–10 seats. Disagreements may occur in any coalition,” Gehlot explained.
Additionally, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has decided not to participate in the Bihar Assembly elections this time, leading Congress leader Udit Raj to call for adaptability within the coalition.
“The Congress is making adjustments, and the JMM should follow suit. Our priority is to uphold the Constitution and democracy, which sometimes necessitates slight compromises. Just as we accepted the allocated seats in Jharkhand, a broader perspective should be maintained…” Raj emphasized.
While opposition leaders acknowledge existing tensions, they continue to assert a united resolve to challenge the BJP-led NDA in the forthcoming Bihar elections, set for November 6 and 11, with results expected on November 14.
