Patna, July 21 (NationPress) In a remarkable achievement, the Sheikhpura police have successfully dismantled a ‘Solver Gang’ involved in the Bihar constable recruitment examination, apprehending 15 individuals, including the ringleader, from the Sheikhpura and Nawada districts.
The gang's illicit activities were unveiled following a meticulously planned raid on Sunday, which extended into the night.
Sheikhpura SP Baliram Kumar Chaudhary confirmed the arrests during a media briefing on Monday.
He stated, “Gorlal Yadav, the ringleader, was captured in Harinarayanpur village under the Govindpur police station in Nawada. Prahlad Kumar, also known as Commando, was taken into custody from Babhanbigha village under the Barbigha police station. Additionally, 13 other members were apprehended at examination centers in Sheikhpura, including Islamia High School, DM High School, and Usha Public School,” Chaudhary detailed.
Chaudhary disclosed that the gang executed their scheme by substituting legitimate candidates with “solvers”, employing counterfeit Aadhaar cards and tampered biometrics, raising suspicions about the involvement of supervisors and biometric operators from TCS, Patna.
It was revealed that the price for passing an examinee was set at Rs 3 lakh, with half of the fee paid during the exam and the remainder upon successful completion.
“Supervisors would transmit video recordings of the question papers to the gang, which then prepared the answers and returned them to be relayed to the candidates during the examination,” Chaudhary explained.
During the series of raids, the police recovered 12 mobile phones, four fake Aadhaar cards, counterfeit ID cards of biometric operators and supervisors, slips containing names and roll numbers of beneficiary candidates, materials used for cheating, and copies of admit cards.
“In total, 18 individuals were implicated in this solver gang. Of these, 15 have been arrested while three remain at large. Ongoing raids are being conducted to apprehend the remaining suspects,” Chaudhary stated.
Those arrested include Sachin Kumar, Nitish Kumar, Avtar Kumar, Sudhir Kumar, Sikandar Kumar, Chintu Kumar, Aditya Kumar, Dharmendra Kumar, Amarjeet Kumar, Abhishek Kumar, Amod Kumar, Preeti Kumari, and Poonam Kumari, in addition to kingpin Gorlal Yadav and Prahalad Kumar.
