Patna, Feb 17 (NationPress) In a significant move towards infrastructural development, the Bihar government plans to propose the Narayani-Ganga Corridor to the Central government as a new Greenfield High-Speed Corridor.
The initiative aims to improve connectivity between North Bihar and South Bihar.
Deputy Chief Minister and Road Construction Minister of Bihar, Vijay Kumar Sinha, elaborated on the project, stating, “The corridor will connect the north-west quadrant of Bihar to the south-west quadrant, drastically cutting down travel time from West Champaran to Bhojpur and further to Rohtas district of Bihar.”
This project is expected to benefit regions including Bhojpur, Saran, Siwan, Gopalganj, and West Champaran by enhancing road infrastructure.
Sinha pointed out that the corridor would facilitate the creation of a new network of roads along its path.
He highlighted the corridor's significance, saying: “We will urge the Central government to develop the Narayani-Ganga Corridor in Bihar. This will not only ensure rapid connectivity to various districts but also promote new road networks alongside.”
This bold infrastructure initiative is in line with Bihar’s long-term goals for economic enhancement and development, ensuring improved road connectivity across different areas. If approved, the Narayani-Ganga Corridor could revolutionize Bihar’s transport and logistics industry.
Sinha provided further details, mentioning that the corridor will link Bagaha (NH-727A) to Patar in Ara district, boosting regional road infrastructure.
A vital aspect of this plan involves constructing a new bridge over the Gandak River, which addresses current connectivity issues. At Patar (Ara), the corridor will connect with the Patna-Ara-Sasaram High-Speed Corridor (NH-119A), thereby enhancing Bihar’s road network.
“Considering the heavy traffic on the Ara-Chhapra Ganga Bridge, another bridge is being contemplated over the Ganga at Riwilganj to alleviate congestion and improve traffic flow,” he added.
Vijay Sinha underscored that this project aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for seamless and secure road connectivity throughout Bihar.
