Bihar: Vice President Dhankhar Attends Central University Convocation in Motihari

Patna, Dec 7 (NationPress) Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar attended the second convocation ceremony of Mahatma Gandhi Central University as the chief guest, officially commencing the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp on Saturday.
He also paid floral tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, honoring his enduring legacy. The ceremony was graced by esteemed guests, including Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, MP and former Union Minister Radha Mohan Singh, Chancellor Mahesh Sharma, and Vice Chancellor Sanjay Srivastava.
During his address to the students, Vice President Dhankhar emphasized that education is a lifelong journey, urging them to continue their pursuit of knowledge and excellence beyond their degrees.
“The nation's ascent to becoming the fifth-largest economy in the world, surpassing former colonial rulers, is attributed to reducing corruption and eliminating middlemen in governance,” the Vice President remarked while addressing the audience.
The Vice President articulated a vision for a "Developed India by 2047", describing it as a collective goal that necessitates shared sacrifice and dedication. He praised Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his pivotal role in transforming the state's development.
In addition to presiding over the convocation, Vice President Dhankhar explored notable landmarks in the city, including Charkha Park, which symbolizes Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy of self-reliance.
The Vice President also took part in the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, planting a sapling at the event venue, Gandhi Auditorium.
Accompanied by Vice Chancellor Sanjay Srivastava, the Vice President entered the auditorium to the resonant music of a pipe band, adding a touch of grandeur to the occasion. Students at the convocation adhered to a formal dress code, fostering a disciplined and unified atmosphere.
Governor Arlekar reinforced the idea that the convocation marks the beginning of the students' journeys rather than the end of their education. He wished them bright futures. The ceremony was filled with messages of perseverance, national pride, and the significance of continuous education in nation-building.
Local MP and former Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh discussed the establishment of the university.
“The collaborative efforts of all political parties and local residents were instrumental in bringing the Central University to Motihari. I express my gratitude to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for selecting Motihari as its location,” Singh stated.
