Patna, Jan 9 (NationPress) Bihar's Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit stated on Friday that the state administration is steadfastly devoted to promoting Artificial Intelligence (AI) and embracing cutting-edge digital technologies throughout various sectors.
He made this announcement during an 'Industry Dialogue' meeting held at the Directorate of Aviation Organisation, Bihar, in close proximity to Patna Airport, where he presided over the discussions.
The meeting saw the participation of 13 distinguished industry representatives. Key topics included the proliferation of AI within Bihar, enhancing digital governance, and addressing industrial challenges promptly.
The Chief Secretary highlighted that integrating modern technology and AI at all governance levels is the government’s top priority.
“In a rapidly changing world, Bihar must cultivate a robust AI ecosystem. Our goal is to disseminate AI knowledge widely and utilize it effectively within government operations,” he remarked.
Rajesh Ranjan, representing Google India, suggested an initiative aimed at training the youth of Bihar in AI.
The proposed pilot project aims to train approximately 10,000 students over six months and includes extending this program to colleges, which was well-received by the Chief Secretary.
Both Ajay Singh and Anand Kumar expressed their eagerness to partner with the state government to harness AI for enhancing education, women and child welfare, and improving the overall living standards of residents.
In response to the proposal, the Chief Secretary instructed Abhay Kumar Singh, Secretary of the Information Technology Department, to take it into serious consideration.
Prithvi Maddirala, the initiative’s founder, showcased a model featuring ‘Smart Shelters’ and ‘Smart Poles’ equipped with AI-enabled cameras, akin to the system used in Sabarimala, Kerala.
The Chief Secretary proposed launching this model as a pilot project in select industrial zones across Bihar.
CEO Shriya Damini presented a plan for providing round-the-clock government services and information through WhatsApp.
Following the presentation, the Chief Secretary instructed the Bihar Public Service Management to act promptly on the proposal.
During the meeting, he also gave immediate directives to tackle various industrial issues.
He called for swift action regarding the application of AI to revive the Sasa Musa Sugar Mill.
Requests for the lump-sum release of start-up funding for the first two phases were assured careful consideration. Additionally, detailed discussions were held regarding the creation of a favorable ecosystem for semiconductor manufacturing in Bihar.
Many other esteemed entrepreneurs and senior officials from various government departments were present at the meeting.
