Patna, Dec 11 (NationPress) Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha issued a decisive warning to the police force, stating that any Station House Officer (SHO) whose area sees a tractor transporting illegally mined sand will face swift suspension.
He reinforced that the state government has embraced a zero-tolerance stance against sand, liquor, and land mafias.
After a meeting with Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya Kumar Sharma and District Magistrate Thiyagarajan S.M, Deputy CM Sinha announced that the Mining Department must carry out rigorous raids throughout the district.
He insisted on strict accountability, stating that vehicles engaged in illegal sand transport—particularly those lacking number plates—should be confiscated without delay.
The Deputy Chief Minister called upon citizens to assist in the crackdown by providing tips.
He declared a reward of Rs 10,000 for information leading to the seizure of a truck and Rs 5,000 for tips resulting in the confiscation of a tractor involved in illegal mining.
