Did Bihar Send a Probe Team After the Telangana Factory Blast That Claimed 2 Lives and Left 16 Workers Injured?

Patna, July 1 (NationPress) In a tragic incident at Sigachi Industries located in the Sangareddy district of Telangana on June 30, a total of 36 individuals lost their lives, with two of the deceased and 16 injured workers hailing from Bihar.

Bihar's Labour Resources Minister, Santosh Kumar Singh, confirmed the unfortunate news regarding the fatalities and injuries on Tuesday. He announced the formation of a three-member committee to investigate the incident on behalf of the Bihar government.

This marks the first occasion Bihar has dispatched a team to look into a factory accident occurring in another state.

The Labour Minister also mentioned that the Bihar government would provide Rs 4 lakh to the families of each deceased worker and Rs 50,000 for every injured worker.

Moreover, Rs 2 lakh from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund will be allocated to the families of the victims.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his condolences over the heartbreaking situation and promised all possible assistance to the families affected by the tragedy.

The explosion took place around 8:15 A.M. in the reactor unit within the Pashamylaram Industrial Area, where more than 100 workers were present at the time.

The force of the explosion was so powerful that injured workers were discovered up to 100 metres away from the blast site.

Eyewitnesses at the pharmaceutical facility described the harrowing moments following the explosion, which has thus far claimed at least 36 lives, with ongoing rescue operations recovering more bodies.

The blast led to the collapse of the manufacturing unit, with flames rapidly spreading to adjacent structures within the factory premises.

Meanwhile, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that the families of those killed in the explosion would receive Rs 1 crore each.

Additionally, those suffering from serious injuries would get Rs 10 lakh, while other injured workers would receive Rs 5 lakh each.

Following a visit to the site of the accident, he assured the media that both the company management and the Telangana government would ensure adequate compensation to the victims. He also confirmed that all medical expenses for the injured would be covered by the company and the Telangana government.

CM Reddy instructed officials to provide Rs 1 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured as immediate assistance.

In a separate note, the Bihar Labour Minister emphasized the Chief Minister's Pratigya Yojana, which aims to offer monthly financial support to youth for internships. Under this initiative, 5,000 young individuals aged 18-28 will receive Rs 4,000-Rs 6,000 per month for internships this year, with plans to expand this to 20,000 youths annually from the next year.

This program seeks to enhance youth employability and foster skill development within the state.
