New Delhi, July 16 (NationPress) As Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares for his upcoming visit to Motihari on July 18, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Akhilesh Prasad Singh has launched a fierce critique, questioning the unfulfilled commitments made by the Prime Minister during his last trip to the area.
In an interview with IANS, Singh stated, “During his visit to Motihari in 2014-15, Prime Minister Modi promised that the next time he came, there would be visible smoke from the chimney of the inactive sugar mill. He indicated that the chimney of this dormant sugar mill would be operational once again. So now we must inquire, how many industries have actually been set up?”
Singh also directed his criticism toward the broader political climate in Bihar, targeting the NDA regarding the state's law and order situation.
Addressing the ongoing accusations by the BJP and JD(U) about the resurgence of “jungle raj” in Bihar if the Opposition gains power, the Congress leader remarked that the actual statistics tell a different narrative.
“For the last two decades, Nitish Ji and the Bharatiya Janata Party have been governing together in Bihar. Contrary to the alleged 'jungle raj', murders have surged by over 300 percent. Crimes against women have increased by more than 250 percent, and offenses against children have escalated by over 280 percent,” he asserted.
The comments from the Congress MP come just two days before PM Modi’s significant rally in Motihari, where he is expected to engage a large audience and launch development initiatives amounting to Rs 7,196 crore in the area.
