New Delhi, Feb 4 (NationPress) Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu criticized the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, following an incident where he was labeled a 'traitor' during a heated exchange near Parliament. Bittu stated that even 'street goons' would not act in the manner that the Congress leader did.

During this confrontation, Rahul Gandhi aggressively referred to Bittu as a 'traitor', which prompted a strong response from the former Congress leader.

As Bittu was passing by suspended MPs, Gandhi was reportedly heard saying, 'Here is a traitor walking right by. Look at the face.' He extended his hand towards Bittu, adding, 'Hello, brother, my traitor friend. Don’t worry, you will return to us (the Congress).'

In an exclusive interview with IANS, Ravneet Singh Bittu shared, 'I was approaching the main gate of Parliament when I noticed Rahul Gandhi saying something. Everything is recorded; I cannot repeat that here.'

He continued, 'He suggested I come back to them. I believe he has a misconception that he remains a prince of some sort. I told him, 'Rahul ji, you are an enemy of the nation. You constantly speak against the soldiers in Parliament.'

Bittu accused Rahul Gandhi of making personal remarks and failing to uphold the decorum expected from a parliamentarian.

'Other MPs were exiting, but your comments were personal. It's acceptable when someone is aligned with you, but not when they are not,' he stated.

He also referenced historical events involving the Congress, asserting, 'They have caused harm to many Sikhs, whether through police or terrorists, and have destroyed Gurdwaras. They have always been the enemy.

'A sardar will never extend a hand to the scion of the Gandhi family, who has blood on their hands. My grandfather sacrificed his life. Their family members were also martyrs. However, if party members celebrated both, it bothered them,' he remarked.

Bittu reminisced about political changes in Punjab, noting, 'When P.V. Narasimha Rao became Prime Minister, the Gandhi era concluded. Significant changes followed.'

'When my grandfather became the Chief Minister of Punjab, he ushered in peace. The violence between Sikhs and Hindus ceased during that time. This was a source of discomfort for them,' he claimed.

Bittu alleged that Rahul Gandhi attempted to confront him, stating, 'Even street goons wouldn't act as he did. When I refused to shake hands, he approached me aggressively. Thankfully, Venugopal Ji intervened. Had he not, an altercation might have occurred. I would have retaliated if they had attacked me.'

Questioning the conduct of the Congress leader, he asked, 'As a parliamentarian, how does he justify his actions? How can he use such language regardless of his political affiliation?'

Bittu expressed satisfaction with his current party, stating, 'You are mistaken. I am now part of a party that has given me immense respect, including BJP, PM Modi, and Amit Shah.

'In politics, using abusive language is inappropriate. If this had occurred elsewhere, it would be hard to believe. However, since it transpired in Parliament, people became aware of it.'
