New Delhi, April 15 (NationPress) BJP Bihar President Dilip Jaiswal on Tuesday launched a fierce critique of the coalition between the RJD and the Congress, labeling it as "incompatible" and fated to falter. He asserted that the RJD would never support the Congress in reclaiming a stronghold in Bihar.
His remarks followed a scheduled meeting between RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi, aimed at strengthening opposition unity in light of the impending state elections.
Addressing reporters, Jaiswal stated, "This alliance between the Congress and RJD is fundamentally flawed. Both parties are intent on undermining one another. The RJD will never allow the Congress to regain its influence in Bihar, while the Congress aspires to overshadow the RJD in the region."
Tejashwi Yadav arrived at the Delhi airport early on Tuesday for an official meeting with Mallikarjun Kharge to deliberate on seat-sharing and electoral strategy for Bihar in anticipation of the forthcoming Assembly elections.
Yadav told reporters, "Today marks our official meeting. We will discuss strategies for the Bihar elections."
Dilip Jaiswal further criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding her planned meeting with Muslim religious leaders on April 16 to address the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025.
He accused her of engaging in divisive politics, asserting, "Mamata Banerjee should amend her ways. Without harmony and a peaceful atmosphere among all communities, society cannot thrive. Yet, she neglects to meet the families of deceased Hindus."
Following violent protests in West Bengal against the amended Waqf Act passed in Parliament, Chief Minister Banerjee has opted to meet with Imams, Muslim clerics, and thought leaders to discuss the protests and the implications of the Act on Muslims.
The Mayor of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Firhad Hakim, mentioned on Friday that the chief minister will convene a meeting with the Imams to present her perspective.
