Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Nabin on Sunday, 23 August chaired a high-level meeting of the party's newly appointed national office-bearers at the party's central headquarters extension wing on Deendayal Upadhyaya (DDU) Marg in New Delhi. The gathering, attended by state in-charges and state presidents, centred on deliberating the roadmap for the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' (Service Pledge Campaign) and mapping out upcoming organisational programmes.
Key Leaders in Attendance
Several senior figures assembled for the meeting. Newly appointed National General Secretaries Smriti Irani, Vinod Tawde, and Biplab Deb were present, alongside Punjab BJP in-charge Satish Poonia and state BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon.
National Vice Presidents Lal Singh Arya, Vasundhara Raje, and Tirath Singh Rawat also attended, as did Uttar Pradesh BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary, BJP National office-in-charge and MP Tarun Chugh, National Secretary Sandeep Pathak, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) President Hemang Joshi, and BJP Treasurer and Union Minister Piyush Goyal.
What Is the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan'
According to official sources, the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' is a month-long outreach campaign scheduled from 17 September to 17 October, organised under the broader 'Modi @25' initiative to mark 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in public life as head of government. Sunday's meeting was tasked with finalising the operational roadmap for the campaign.
The BJP's central headquarters extension wing, where the meeting was held, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi in 2023.
What Happened the Day Before
The Sunday meeting follows a packed Saturday at the party headquarters. On that occasion, the BJP passed a resolution defending the honour, dignity, and historical legacy of the national song Vande Mataram, condemning the Indian National Congress (Congress) Working Committee's decision to restrict its rendition at party programmes to only the first two stanzas.
Later on Saturday, Prime Minister Modi met the newly appointed national office-bearers at the headquarters. Sharing photographs on social media platform X, Modi said: 'Organisational meetings are all about new ideas and perspectives aimed at strengthening the Party and deepening connect with the people. Great interaction with fellow Party colleagues and the new organisational team!'
What Comes Next
With the roadmap discussions now underway, the party is expected to roll out detailed ground-level plans for the 'Seva Sankalp Abhiyan' ahead of its 17 September launch. The campaign is seen as a significant organisational exercise for the BJP as it consolidates its new leadership structure under President Nabin, with an eye on deepening grassroots connect ahead of upcoming electoral cycles.
