New Delhi, Oct 4 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) launched a fierce critique against People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday, accusing her of making provocative statements solely to maintain her presence in political discussions, after being allegedly "sidelined" by the public.
These comments followed Mufti's assertion that young people throughout India are rising up in protest because they are "facing the harsh reality that the system has failed to meet their hopes and aspirations".
In response, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Ghulam Ali Khatana remarked to IANS, "She needs to ensure her political party remains relevant. The public has pushed her aside. Now, she will say anything to capture headlines."
BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh also criticized Mufti and the Opposition's INDIA Bloc, claiming they are misleading India's youth.
"India's Generation Z is striving to make the nation 'Aatmanirbhar' and 'Viksit'. Our Gen Z is responsible. Under PM Modi's guidance, they are contributing to making India one of the fastest-growing economies," Chugh stated during a press conference.
Previously, on X, the PDP chief expressed, "From Uttarakhand to Ladakh and beyond the borders in Kashmir, Gen Z is awakening. When your future appears dim and dreams are crushed—resistance transcends borders. These young individuals worked hard for a future, adhered to every rule, and clung to hope. But they now see that future slipping away. They are not just protesting; they are confronting authority with raw truth because the very system they were taught to trust has let them down significantly."
"This is not mere noise. It's heartbreak evolving into resistance. This is not a rebellion but a survival plea. They are no longer asking; they are demanding what is rightfully theirs—accountability, justice, opportunity, and dignity. This serves as a wake-up call for our nation, India, and even for neighboring Pakistan," she added.
Mufti also circulated a series of videos depicting protests advocating for 'Azadi', asserting that these demonstrations are a crucial alert not only for India but also for Pakistan.
