Madhya Pradesh Minister Vishwas Sarang Criticizes Mehbooba Mufti for Her India-Bangladesh Comparison

Bhopal, Dec 2 (NationPress) The Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare in Madhya Pradesh, Vishwas Sarang, has fiercely criticized Mehbooba Mufti, the chief of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), for her statements that draw parallels between India's treatment of minorities and that of Bangladesh.

Sarang accused Mufti of making "anti-national" remarks and staunchly defended the democratic principles of India and its treatment of minority groups.

He stated, "The Muslim community in India enjoys full democratic rights, with greater freedoms and opportunities compared to many Muslim-majority nations," as reported by IANS.

Referring to Mufti’s own situation as evidence of these rights, Sarang commented, “Mehbooba Mufti lives here enjoying full constitutional rights. The violence against Hindus in Bangladesh is disgraceful and is unacceptable. It is ironic that some individuals who benefit from India's privileges choose to make sympathetic remarks about another nation.”

Sarang condemned the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh, asserting, "Attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh are shameful and will not go unpunished."

Previously, Mufti made her comments during a media interaction in Jammu.

She expressed concern, stating, “Today, I fear we are heading towards the turmoil of 1947. The youth are seeking jobs but are unable to find them. Our hospitals and educational facilities are lacking... Roads are not being improved, while there are attempts to demolish mosques to find temples. The Sambhal incident is unfortunate, with individuals shot while working in shops. Atrocities against Hindus are occurring in Bangladesh. If similar atrocities happen to minorities in India, what distinguishes India from Bangladesh? I see no difference between India and Bangladesh.”

The Madhya Pradesh Minister also addressed the issue of alleged religious conversions within the state. "The state government maintains a zero-tolerance stance on religious conversions conducted through coercion or inducements," Sarang confirmed.

He mentioned that FIRs have been filed in recent incidents and assured robust action against the offenders. "We are dedicated to preventing such incidents from recurring in the future," he added.
