Bengaluru, Feb 26 (NationPress) - The Karnataka BJP President and MLA, B.Y. Vijayendra, declared that on February 28, a delegation of all party MPs, MLAs, and MLCs will meet with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who also oversees the Finance portfolio, to seek resolutions for the urgent matters facing Bengaluru.
CM Siddaramaiah is set to unveil the Budget for the financial year 2025-26 on March 7.
In a media briefing on Tuesday, he stated that they would request an increased Budget allocation for the growth of Bengaluru.
Moreover, he indicated that the BJP would initiate protests in every Assembly constituency concerning the city's critical issues.
Vijayendra urged that the elections for Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) should proceed without postponement, and the government must abandon the Greater Bengaluru project.
He criticized the state government’s focus on the tunnel road project instead of tackling the city's traffic concerns effectively.
Vijayendra condemned the government's inaction regarding pothole repairs while discussing the tunnel road initiative.
He called on the Congress-led state government to enhance the number of metro coaches rather than investing in an impractical tunnel road project and to consider alternative solutions for traffic issues.
A meeting involving all BJP representatives from Bengaluru took place at the party headquarters on Tuesday, where they discussed opposing the recent increase in metro fares and advocating for a reduction.
He accused the state government of intentionally stalling BBMP elections under the guise of the Greater Bengaluru plan, labeling it a conspiracy.
Vijayendra firmly stated that elections should take place immediately.
He also mentioned that the central government had not raised metro fares, suggesting that the state government was unjustly blaming the Centre for the increase.
The Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly, R. Ashoka, has arranged a pre-Budget meeting, which they plan to attend.
The meeting included BJP MPs P.C. Mohan, Tejasvi Surya, Rajya Sabha MP Lahar Singh Siroya, and several MLAs, among others.
