BJP Demands Apologies from K’taka CM & HM Following High Court's Favorable Ruling for MLC C.T. Ravi

Bengaluru, Dec 20 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP has expressed its support for the High Court's relief granted to BJP MLC C.T. Ravi and has demanded public apologies from Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister G. Parameshwara, claiming that democracy has triumphed in the state.
C.T. Ravi was detained on Thursday due to his purportedly derogatory comments aimed at Minister for Women and Child Welfare Laxmi Hebbalkar.
Karnataka BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra remarked, "The High Court has reflected the oppressive tactics of the Congress government’s police. Democracy has prevailed in the state." He insisted that the Chief Minister and Home Minister owe the public an apology.
The High Court's intervention came at a critical moment, sending a clear message to a government that endorses violence and employs police authority to threaten and detain individuals at will. The court has upheld the Constitution and the integrity of the law in this region. "On behalf of the citizens of Karnataka, I warmly welcome this judicial ruling and congratulate MLC C.T. Ravi," Vijayendra added.
Vijayendra further criticized, "By disregarding the dignity of elected officials and flouting rules, the Congress government has acted in a way that mirrors authoritarianism through police force."
“By unlawfully detaining MLC C.T. Ravi from Thursday until now, the Congress government has reminded our youth of the oppressive times of the Emergency,” he accused.
The BJP will persist in its struggle against this Congress administration, which, according to him, undermines democracy, engages in tyrannical actions, and is embroiled in corruption scandals until an appropriate resolution is achieved.
“I also express my sincere gratitude to the media for its vital role as the fourth estate in highlighting this significant injustice within our democratic framework,” he acknowledged.
The arrest of Ravi is deemed an inexcusable offense. The behavior of the police is questionable, having allegedly assaulted him, denied him food overnight, and transported him for 400 to 500 kilometers in the early hours without justification, treating him as a criminal, he asserted.
This is being executed under the direction of the government, with the police violating all established protocols, the BJP leader claimed.
C.T. Ravi was taken into custody for allegedly making disparaging remarks about Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar during the Legislative Council session on Thursday.
A scene of chaos unfolded on Thursday as during an intense debate in the Legislative Council, C.T. Ravi allegedly labeled Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi as a "drug addict."
Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar reacted strongly to these comments, referring to Ravi as a "murderer." In response, the BJP leader purportedly directed an obscene term towards the female minister.
Earlier in the day, the High Court issued an interim order for C.T. Ravi's immediate release.
