Kolkata, Oct 28 (NationPress) Following the arrest of BJP leader Rakesh Singh and his children in relation to an assault incident in West Bengal, his underage daughter has lodged a counter-complaint alleging molestation against the son of the flat owner, whose complaint led to her father's detention.
The police confirmed the arrest of the flat owner's son, Chandu Khan, based on the complaint filed by the BJP leader's daughter.
Kasba Police stated that all individuals taken into custody will be brought before the court later today, where they will seek police custody of the accused.
Reports suggest the police are probing if Rakesh Singh's daughter had any involvement in the events that transpired on Monday.
"We have received a counter-complaint today. The BJP leader's daughter has filed the complaint. The accused has been apprehended for molestation. We are examining both incidents, and separate cases have been registered. The investigation is ongoing," remarked a senior officer from Kolkata Police.
Kolkata Police had previously arrested Rakesh Singh and his son for allegedly causing chaos within a housing complex in the Kasba region of Kolkata on Monday.
The police also detained the BJP leader's minor daughter on similar charges.
According to Chandu Khan's son, Rajarshi Khan, "Rakesh Singh occupies a flat on the fourth floor. He has unlawfully taken over our flat on the third floor and left his belongings there. I requested him multiple times to clear his things. Today, while we were moving our workers' items because we pay rent, 8 to 9 people assaulted my father and brother. They were armed. My father had to be hospitalized due to the injuries, and they even tried to stab me."
In contrast, the daughter has now accused the flat owner's son of molestation.
In September, Rakesh Singh faced arrest for vandalizing the West Bengal Pradesh Congress Committee (WBPCC) office in central Kolkata but was later released on bail.
