New Delhi, Jan 15 (NationPress) As the Delhi Assembly elections approach, BJP leaders such as Vijender Gupta, Satish Upadhyay, Parvesh Verma, and Ajay Mahawar have ramped up their election activities with rallies and roadshows prior to filing their nominations. The BJP's electoral drive has been characterized by significant rallies, with party officials expressing optimism regarding their electoral prospects.
Vijender Gupta, the BJP's candidate for the Rohini Assembly seat, is scheduled to submit his nomination on Wednesday.
Prior to his nomination, he conducted a grand rally featuring a substantial turnout of supporters. Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar attended the rally, offering his backing to Gupta.
In parallel, BJP candidate Satish Upadhyay, who is contesting from the Malviya Nagar Assembly seat, began his nomination process with a major rally in the Green Park area that attracted considerable participation from party members and supporters.
Present at the event were Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, MP Bansuri Swaraj, and Virender Singh.
During the rally, Upadhyay expressed his appreciation and hope, stating, "I am thankful that MP Bansuri Swaraj, along with my family and friends, are all here supporting me as I file my nomination today.
"Even with the cold wave and fog, it is evident that my supporters and party workers are present in full strength. This indicates that the lotus is blooming, and the BJP is on its way to Delhi."
Bansuri Swaraj also voiced her support for Upadhyay, stating, "On February 5, press the lotus symbol and ensure Satish Upadhyay's victory. We promise to transform Malviya Nagar and strive for its development."
BJP candidate Dushyant Singh Gautam, who is running from Karol Bagh, also conducted a roadshow before submitting his nomination at the SDM office in Jhandewalan, Delhi, alongside Haryana Chief Minister Nawab Singh Saini.
Moreover, Manoj Tiwari, together with BJP candidate Ajay Mahawar, held a rally in Yamuna Vihar just before Mahawar filed his nomination for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
Mahawar expressed confidence in the BJP’s prospects, stating, "This time, the BJP is poised for a decisive victory, and we are receiving overwhelming support from the community."
Tiwari also shared his optimism regarding the party's future, saying, "We are submitting nominations for around 38 seats, and I am here with Ajay Mahawar as he files his nomination. We performed a 'hawan' ceremony, asking for divine blessings. This nomination is set to bring joy to Delhi's citizens, who have long suffered due to corruption. Now is the ideal moment for change. In the Gonda constituency, all issues will be addressed. We seek the support and blessings of the people. Press the lotus button."
Tiwari further criticized former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, asserting, "There is a wave of change in Delhi, and Kejriwal continues to mislead the public, despite being unfit for the Chief Minister role. The people of Delhi are aware of these falsehoods. The citizens will determine their future, leading to the formation of a BJP double-engine government."
BJP's Parvesh Verma, another candidate vying for the New Delhi Assembly seat, also held a roadshow prior to filing his nomination. Accompanied by his supporters, Verma demonstrated his strong presence in the constituency, indicating his readiness for the electoral contest.
The election for Delhi's 70-member Assembly is scheduled for February 5, with vote counting set for February 8.
