Hyderabad, Jan 21 (NationPress) BJP MP Eatala Rajender confronted a real estate agent in the Medchal-Malkajgiri district on Tuesday after accusing him of exploiting the impoverished by illegally encroaching on their properties. The Lok Sabha representative from Malkajgiri physically assaulted the agent in Ekashila Nagar under Pocharam Municipality on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
During a heated exchange, Rajender alleged that the agent was taking advantage of the poor by unlawfully occupying their lands. Following his actions, Rajender's supporters also joined in and assaulted the agent. The identity of the agent remains undisclosed, and it is unclear if he intends to report the incident to the authorities.
The MP stated to the press that the BJP is committed to supporting the less fortunate. He claimed that certain officials are colluding with real estate brokers to unlawfully acquire land from the needy.
Rajender indicated that he has communicated with the District Collector and Police Commissioner regarding the land disputes.
He mentioned that impoverished families in Narapalli and Korremula villages had purchased land and constructed homes back in 1985. He revealed that 149 acres of unused land have been resold multiple times, causing immense hardship to the rightful owners.
Eatala asserted that fraudulent documents were created with the assistance of officials to encroach upon the lands of the disadvantaged.
He urged for action against those officials who aided the brokers and claimed that some police officers were also involved with the agents.
Rajender intends to escalate the matter to higher authorities.
He criticized the state Congress government, alleging it is specifically targeting the homes of the poor by conducting demolitions in various areas.
Eatala Rajender previously belonged to the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) but switched to the BJP after being removed from the Cabinet in 2021 by then-Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao amid accusations of land grabbing from farmers.
The former minister was re-elected to the Assembly in the Huzurabad constituency in the 2021 by-election on a BJP ticket. Although he lost his seat in the 2023 Assembly elections, he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Malkajgiri last year.
