Chandigarh, Jan 28 (NationPress) The Congress party has continued to mislead the residents of Punjab through its deceitful tactics. By opting not to nominate a candidate for the Chandigarh Mayor elections, they have unmistakably revealed their covert alliance with the Aam Aadmi Party, asserted Punjab BJP spokesperson Pritpal Singh Baliawal on Tuesday.
In a video statement, Baliawal criticized Congress, stating: “While they publicly claim to oppose AAP, their internal connections expose a betrayal of the public's trust. The charade during the Amritsar Mayor elections further uncovers this unholy alliance. Congress’s silence and lack of action, as AAP manipulated the councillors, speaks volumes about their cooperation.”
He further emphasized that Congress leaders are now seeking a ‘safe house’ in Ludhiana, where AAP has a stronghold.
“Are you serious or out of your mind? This blatant act is nothing short of a mockery of democracy and a reflection of the Congress leadership's failures, particularly Raja Warring, who remains indifferent to these theatrics while cooperating with AAP,” he stated.
Baliawal argued that this scenario proves that both Congress and AAP are merely two facets of the same issue.
“Their antics to mislead the public will not endure. The residents of Punjab are now aware of their deceitful alliance and will hold them accountable in the forthcoming elections,” he asserted.
In related news, the newly elected Mayor of Amritsar, Jatinder Singh Motia Bhatia, took office during a swearing-in ceremony attended by Punjab Minister Kuldeep Dhaliwal and various local party leaders and MLAs.
Minister Dhaliwal remarked, “Today marks a historic day for Amritsar and is a moment of immense pride for the Aam Aadmi Party.
“I assure the residents of Amritsar that our Mayor and councillors will work diligently to meet your expectations. We will address all city issues and ensure that residents do not encounter any difficulties. Our primary focus will be on development and ensuring the city operates smoothly,” he concluded.
Dhaliwal criticized Congress for staging drama over the past months and lacking genuine issues.
“If a Congress Mayor is elected, then democracy is praised; but if not, they claim that democracy has been undermined. Amritsar is not the personal property of a single family; it belongs to the people, who are free to elect their Mayor. We will not permit nepotism to flourish,” he added.
Dhaliwal also took aim at Congress leader Partap Bajwa, saying, “Bajwa states that democracy has been killed, but why did he overlook this during Congress’s era when Punjab suffered for 75 years with open murders, false accusations, and the attack on Darbar Sahib? The Congress is now disseminating false rumors concerning the Mayor elections.”
