New Delhi, April 10 (NationPress) Following assertions by parts of the Pakistani media that the nation's diplomatic efforts during the Iran-US crisis deserve recognition for the Nobel Peace Prize, leaders from the BJP and Shiv Sena have ridiculed the notion as ridiculous. They contended that if individuals implicated in fostering terrorism are eligible for such an accolade, then even Adolf Hitler could be considered for the award.

The discourse intensified after US President Donald Trump announced that he had consented to a ceasefire “based on discussions with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir of Pakistan,” stating that they had “requested that I hold off on the destructive force being sent tonight to Iran.”

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also suggested that Tehran had agreed to the ceasefire “in response to the brotherly request of Prime Minister Sharif,” further substantiating claims of Pakistan’s diplomatic involvement.

In response, Shiv Sena leader Shaina NC questioned the authenticity of Pakistan's claims to international peace recognition.

“I am unsure who is pulling Pakistan’s strings. They are not even remotely capable of aspiring for a Nobel Prize, let alone earning one for mediating in global disputes. The alleged ceasefire and discussions they reference have not occurred,” she told IANS.

She emphasized that Pakistan's leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir, must first tackle their own internal issues.

“They need to eradicate the toxicity and terrorism within their own borders before they can claim any form of international diplomatic achievement. The reality of terrorism must be addressed publicly. Only then can they hope to be taken seriously on the global stage,” she added.

Labeling the discussions about the Nobel Peace Prize as “premature and misplaced,” Shaina NC insisted that Pakistan should first comprehend the ramifications of nuclear escalation and its global repercussions.

“Considering their history of allegedly harboring terrorists, their leadership should focus on establishing internal peace. India has not forgotten Pakistan’s past actions, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will respond at the appropriate moment. The Nobel Peace Prize remains a distant aspiration for them,” she stated.

In a similar vein, BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo criticized the very suggestion of bestowing a Nobel Prize under such circumstances. “It is absurd to award a Nobel Prize to nations accused of supporting terrorism. Pakistan claims to have mediated between the US and Iran, but the clarity on the terms or outcomes of such mediation remains elusive,” he articulated.

He added that honoring such claims would severely undermine the credibility of the Nobel Peace Prize itself. “If those accused of promoting terrorism are even considered for the Nobel Peace Prize, then logically, Hitler should also be a candidate,” Shah Deo concluded.

Point of View

The remarks made by BJP and Shiv Sena leaders reflect deep skepticism towards Pakistan's claims regarding its diplomatic role in the Iran-US crisis. The invocation of historical figures like Hitler underscores the gravity of their criticism, suggesting a lack of faith in Pakistan's current leadership to contribute meaningfully to global peace efforts.
