New Delhi, Jan 30 (NationPress) The BJP on Thursday demanded an apology from AAP's National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal for inciting fear in the national capital with his unfounded and reckless claim about the Yamuna being ‘poisoned’. They questioned whether he was acting in the interest of foreign entities that are opposed to India's well-being.

At a press conference, BJP National Spokesman Sudhanshu Trivedi labeled Kejriwal a “habitual liar” and stated that the Election Commission of India (ECI) dismissing his assertions regarding the Yamuna had revealed his true character.

“Kejriwal’s substandard political tactics have been revealed both politically and constitutionally,” Trivedi remarked, asserting that Kejriwal attempted to disseminate falsehoods about the Yamuna River but was ultimately unmasked.

“Why did he turn to the Election Commission regarding the Yamuna? Since when is the poll body responsible for river cleansing?” Trivedi questioned, referring to the setback Kejriwal faced after the ECI scrutinized his complaint about the Yamuna.

The poll panel had previously expressed dissatisfaction with Kejriwal's response on the Yamuna 'poison' issue, stating that “no factual or legal context with evidence has been provided to substantiate his claims.”

Trivedi claimed that Kejriwal appears to be working for foreign powers aiming to disrupt peace in India.

“He incited fear and attempted to create a rift between Haryana and Delhi,” he criticized the former Chief Minister, who is otherwise well-educated.

“How can he assert that Haryana is attempting to poison residents of Delhi? Does he think only AAP supporters reside in Delhi? Would the allegedly contaminated water not affect others, including PM Narendra Modi?” he questioned.

He challenged the former Delhi Chief Minister about the AAP's inability to utilize the Rs 8,500 crore allocated by the central government for the Yamuna's cleanup.

“Kejriwal is disseminating falsehoods to mask his own failings in cleaning the Yamuna and providing potable water,” he stated.

Describing AAP and Congress as collaborators in misinformation, Trivedi noted, “By bringing up the Yamuna ‘poison’ issue, these parties, which previously questioned the surgical strikes conducted by our armed forces against Pakistan, have made a serious accusation of river poisoning that even Pakistan has not perpetrated.”

“These two parties were giving each other a clean slate six months ago, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, and are now misleading the public by criticizing one another's administration,” he added.

Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva stated that AAP and Congress are two sides of the same coin. “Both have plundered the city for years,” he urged voters to reject parties that have hindered Delhi's development.
