New Delhi, Jan 29 (NationPress) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has called on Arvind Kejriwal to furnish solid evidence to substantiate his assertions that Haryana is contaminating the Yamuna river. In this context, Janata Dal-United leader Rajiv Ranjan Prasad criticized the Aam Aadmi Party's national convener on Wednesday for making such irresponsible statements devoid of any proof and condemned his failure to justify these serious allegations.

In an interview with IANS, Rajiv Ranjan Prasad stated, "Kejriwal ji is now under pressure. The BJP has effectively silenced him, and he is struggling to respond to the flood of inquiries. These inquiries come from the ECI, raising critical issues of credibility and trustworthiness. A politician of his rank - the national convener of a political party and former Chief Minister - should not make such irresponsible statements without substantiation. He ought to withdraw his claim and apologize for the sake of his party."

Prasad also commented on the ongoing public feud between Kejriwal and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, particularly their accusations concerning corruption linked to the liquor scam. He highlighted the inconsistencies between the two leaders, who were recently seen uniting against the NDA but are now trading accusations.

"Just yesterday, they were embracing each other and targeting the NDA. Now, they've shifted to blaming one another. On one side, Congress has a dubious history of scams, and on the other, Kejriwal, who rose from Anna Hazare’s anti-corruption campaign, now leads a party embroiled in scandals like the liquor scam. The citizens of Delhi are aware of the situation and will support the NDA," Prasad asserted.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been outspoken in his allegations against Kejriwal, dubbing him the overseer of the "largest liquor scam" in Delhi. At a rally in Patparganj, he identified Kejriwal and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia as the "architects" of the scam.

In retaliation, AAP leader Priyanka Kakkar countered by questioning Congress's inaction in the National Herald case and suggesting a possible political alliance between Congress and the BJP. She accused the Modi government of framing AAP’s leadership in the liquor case lacking evidence, while the unresolved National Herald case remains a concern for Congress.
