New Delhi, Jan 29 (NationPress) Abhishek Dutt, Congress candidate for the Kasturba Nagar Assembly seat, accused Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday of attempting to shift focus away from critical issues, following the Election Commission of India's demand for evidence regarding AAP's assertions that Haryana is contaminating the Yamuna River.
Dutt asserted that Kejriwal's strategy was simply a means to fragment political discussions, claiming that AAP is losing ground as votes begin to flow towards Congress.
In a conversation with IANS, Dutt remarked, "It is evident that AAP will not secure victory in the election. The electorate that once favored AAP is now gravitating towards Congress. Voters who previously supported AAP are coming to realize that the party is no longer a contender."
Dutt also responded to comments made by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, who criticized Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena for his failure to address the escalating ammonia levels in Delhi's water supply while adhering to the BJP's commands.
He seized the moment to restate his accusations, claiming that Kejriwal has been collaborating with the BJP and has not delivered on his commitments to the residents of Delhi over the last eleven years.
“It’s the same Kejriwal who previously allied with the BJP, met with RSS representatives about corruption, and is now being unveiled for his shortcomings. For eleven years, the people of Delhi have been misled by this administration," Dutt expressed.
When questioned about Congress' primary competitor, Dutt decisively stated that the BJP is their main rival in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, reinforcing Congress' confidence in achieving a noteworthy victory.
"We will emerge victorious by a substantial margin in the forthcoming elections," he concluded.
As the Delhi Assembly elections approach, the three prominent political contenders in the capital have committed to extensive welfare initiatives to win over voters.
The AAP, Congress, and BJP are all striving to connect with women voters, a demographic that has garnered considerable attention from political parties in recent national elections.
