Kolkata, Aug 31 (NationPress) BJP leader Amit Malviya harshly criticized Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra for her anti-Hindu and casteist remarks directed at SC communities in West Bengal.
He shared a video snippet of her speech from August 28, where he, as the BJP's IT cell chief and central observer for West Bengal, called for Moitra's immediate resignation from her parliamentary position.
During a Trinamool workers’ meeting in Karimpur Block-2, Moitra made outrageous comments against Sanatanis, particularly targeting the Namasudra community. She mocked Hindus by asserting: 'All year you’re Trinamooli, and during elections Sanatani?'— suggesting that one cannot simultaneously support Trinamool and identify as a Hindu!
In the video, Moitra claims that individuals from SC, Namasudra, and Matua communities benefit from Mamata Banerjee's administration's social welfare initiatives, yet they vote for the BJP in elections. She stated that out of 100 voters in SC-majority areas, 85 favor the BJP, despite enjoying these welfare benefits.
Malviya condemned her for what he termed hate speech against these groups, stating, 'She disrespected SCs, Namasudras, and Matuas, arrogantly implying that government resources belong solely to Trinamool, while deriding them for their BJP support. Furthermore, she mocked the Vaishnav community's reverence for the Kanthi Mala, saying: “Wearing a wooden mala, you people come to take doles!” This constitutes pure anti-Hindu, casteist hate speech. Such communal venom deserves no absolution,' he added.
Malviya concluded by asserting, 'BJP has consistently supported Namasudra, SC, and Matua communities. It is crucial for these groups to demand Mahua Moitra’s swift resignation and to initiate a broader movement. She must face consequences for her derogatory remarks against SC-ST and Hindu communities.'
Recently, a BJP member in West Bengal lodged a complaint with the Kotwali Police Station in Nadia district against Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra for her disparaging comments about Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
