BJP to Roll Out Ayushman Bharat Health Scheme in Delhi Post-Elections: Bidhuri

New Delhi, Dec 2 (NationPress) In a promise to deliver clean drinking water and 10,000 new e-buses for the capital, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, the chairman of the BJP Manifesto Committee, declared on Monday that the newly elected BJP government will swiftly enforce the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme following the Assembly elections.

Speaking to the press, South Delhi MP Bidhuri remarked, “The Arvind Kejriwal and Aatishi administrations have merely exploited and provided contaminated water to the residents of Delhi under the guise of a 20,000-litre free water scheme.”

Upon taking office, the first Cabinet meeting of the BJP government will sanction the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), which has been obstructed by Kejriwal in Delhi.

“While the elderly and underprivileged across the nation benefit from Rs 5 lakh health insurance, the people of Delhi have been deprived of these advantages due to Kejriwal's political maneuvers,” he stated.

The seasoned BJP leader accused the AAP government of deceiving Delhi residents with promises of 200 units of free electricity. “They are exploiting citizens by imposing exorbitant surcharges. Because of the monthly surcharge of Rs 125 per KW for domestic connections, consumers are facing a high rate of Rs 9 per unit of power,” he explained.

He further claimed that commercial electricity consumers in Delhi are paying as high as Rs 17 per unit, one of the highest rates in the nation.

“Power bills will be amended when the BJP is in power,” Bidhuri assured, vowing to eliminate unnecessary surcharges imposed on electricity users.

The chairman of the BJP Manifesto Committee also criticized the Kejriwal and Atishi governments’ free water initiative as fraudulent.

“According to the Delhi government’s own acknowledgment in the Assembly, they cannot provide potable water to 40 percent of the city’s populace,” Bidhuri said.

He noted that out of 7,500 water samples collected by the Delhi Jal Board, 2,500 samples failed to meet quality standards.

“The AAP administration is delivering unsafe drinking water under the pretense of a free scheme, jeopardizing citizens’ health,” he asserted, adding that the Delhi government charges up to Rs 4 lakh in development costs from new water connection applicants for a plot size of 200 sq metres.

Bidhuri also criticized the AAP government for not upgrading the DTC bus fleet to facilitate comfortable free travel for women. “Kejriwal had vowed to purchase 15,000 new buses but has failed to acquire a single new bus,” he noted.

“Thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, 1,600 new electric buses have been added to the DTC fleet,” he said, asserting that the upcoming BJP government will integrate 10,000 e-buses into the Delhi Transport Corporation’s fleet.

The BJP has also initiated an official email ID and a WhatsApp number to gather suggestions for its manifesto for the forthcoming Assembly elections.

Bidhuri mentioned that starting December 7, two BJP video vans will traverse each district to collect public suggestions for the manifesto.

Scheduled for February, the elections will select members for a new 70-member Assembly in Delhi.
