Bengaluru, Feb 14 (NationPress) On the occasion of the Congress-led government reaching the milestone of 1,000 days in power with a grand celebration in Haveri, BJP State President and MLA B. Y. Vijayendra referenced the saying, "telling a hundred lies to solemnise a marriage."

He claimed that in their celebrations, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his cabinet have propagated "a thousand lies."

During a press briefing at the BJP state headquarters in Bengaluru, Vijayendra unveiled posters ridiculing the Congress-led administration.

He asserted that during the elections, Congress had accused the BJP of 40 percent corruption while vowing to establish a corruption-free 'Ram Rajya.' Yet, after assuming office, the Congress government has allegedly "deceived" the populace.

He mentioned that many citizens are voicing concerns about how the Chief Minister, who claims to advocate for AHINDA (minorities, backward classes, and Dalits), is prioritizing minorities while neglecting Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, backward classes, and communities like Vokkaligas and Veerashaiva-Lingayats.

Vijayendra criticized Siddaramaiah for spending Rs 170 crore on a caste census only to disregard the findings, allegedly under the influence of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Pointing to alleged scams like MUDA, he labeled the Congress government as a "model for corruption" in India. He accused the government of catering to minorities, disrespecting Hindus, and neglecting youth over the past two and a half years.

Vijayendra asserted that under Siddaramaiah's governance, Karnataka is regressing by 20–25 years due to stagnation in development, with the state's financial situation significantly worsening.

He highlighted that despite the Chief Minister's promise to fill vacancies in government roles, nearly 2.85 lakh positions remain unfilled, betraying the youth.

He criticized the government's ineffective legal strategies in the High Court and cited issues regarding reservation matrices as excuses for not addressing vacancies.

Vijayendra mentioned that the government had pledged to implement the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) for employees hired after 2006 but has failed to do so. He also alleged that promises to increase Anganwadi workers' honorariums to Rs 15,000 and raise payments for ASHA workers and mid-day meal cooks have not been met.

He condemned the government for "falling short" in its commitment to allocate Rs 1.5 lakh crore over five years for irrigation projects. He noted that pledges to establish tech parks in Mysuru, Mangaluru, and Hubballi to generate over one lakh jobs remain unfulfilled.

Moreover, Vijayendra alleged that while Congress promised 10 kg of rice, only the 5 kg provided by the Centre is being accurately distributed, with the state's share being inconsistent.

He accused the Congress government of betraying the Centre and presented documents to support his allegations.

He remarked that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is dedicated to uplifting the poor, farmers, women, and youth nationwide, Karnataka's "experienced Chief Minister" Siddaramaiah—who has presented 16 record Budgets—is causing suffering among the state's residents as if "waiting is salvation."

Vijayendra stated that while the Centre, under PM Modi's guidance, upholds the principle of "work is worship" and is steering the nation positively, Karnataka's situation starkly contrasts.

He asserted that although Congress leaders profess admiration for Mahatma Gandhi, public sentiment suggests that the state government promotes disorder and alcoholism, which undermines Gandhi's values.

He recalled the previous BJP administration under B.S. Yediyurappa and Basavaraj Bommai, noting that several beneficial schemes were enacted during that period.

Former Deputy Chief Minister and MP Govind Karjol and former Deputy Chief Minister and MLA Dr C.N. Ashwath Narayan were present at the press conference.
