BJP's Ramvir Bidhuri Questions Kejriwal on Farmers' Issues, Seeks Clarifications

New Delhi, Jan 6 (NationPress) BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri has publicly challenged former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to engage in a debate focusing on issues related to farmers and agriculture in Delhi. By raising 16 critical questions, Bidhuri accused the Kejriwal administration of ignoring farmers' welfare and reneging on promises made.
Bidhuri claimed that the Delhi government has hidden files regarding land allotment and regularization. “Why has Kejriwal not allocated land to even a single landless individual in Delhi? What led him to pause the land mutation process?” he queried.
Furthermore, the BJP MP questioned the introduction of commercial tax on tractors and vital agricultural tools in Delhi. “Why has the Revenue Department kept information on land pooling and land status from the Urban Development Ministry for the past two years?” he asked.
He expressed concerns about rural development, asking, “Why have there been no new schools or colleges established in rural Delhi? What happened to the decision made in 2013 to regularize housing in rural areas that has yet to be executed? Kejriwal needs to clarify why Sections 81A and 33A, which he vowed to eliminate, are still in effect. Why has he obstructed farmers from setting up shops on their properties?”
Bidhuri criticized Kejriwal for not designating rural roads as commercial roads for municipal purposes and questioned why farmers have not received a bonus on the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
“Kejriwal had committed to providing 50 percent higher MSP to farmers. Why hasn’t this promise been honored? Why has he not abolished house tax, as he had promised?”
On the subject of housing, Bidhuri stated, “Why was the PM Awas Yojana not put into effect in Delhi? Why were ownership rights not conferred to the landless, despite Kejriwal possessing the power to do so?”
Bidhuri labeled Kejriwal a “liar” and accused him of deceiving the citizens of Delhi. “Chief Minister Atishi should take moral responsibility and step down. The BJP guarantees that once in power, we will resolve all land-related matters within two months,” he asserted.
Concerning the 'Sheesh Mahal' controversy, Bidhuri alleged financial misconduct.
“We raised alarms during its construction. The CAG report has surfaced now. Initially, Rs 10 crore was approved, but the costs skyrocketed to Rs 53 crore. Numerous trees, including some from the British era, were cut down for this project, and no map approval was ever obtained. Kejriwal must respond to these inquiries,” he told IANS on Monday.
