BPSC Confirms No Cancellation of Preliminary Examination

Patna, Dec 27 (NationPress) In light of the persistent demonstrations from candidates of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), the Commission has categorically stated that the 70th Integrated Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 will not be cancelled.
Rajesh Kumar Singh, the Examination Controller of BPSC, confirmed this stance, highlighting that while some individuals are calling for the cancellation of the exam, numerous other candidates have sent emails requesting that the examination should proceed as scheduled.
Singh addressed the claims made by the protesting students, asserting that they have failed to provide any substantial evidence to back their accusations, which he described as "fabricated".
"The re-examination is slated for January 4, 2025, and candidates can begin downloading their admit cards from January 2, 2025. This will be held at various locations," he stated.
Singh pointed out that the disturbances were confined to the Bapu Examination Centre on December 13, where a small group of candidates raised concerns.
However, he noted that 911 other centres reported no issues.
"Out of the 3.28 lakh candidates who sat for the exam on December 13, only about 2,000 are protesting, without any proof of irregularities at other centres. The commission cannot afford to delay or cancel the examination based on the concerns of a few protestors, especially when the majority of candidates have not expressed any problems," Singh remarked.
He added that preparations are underway for the re-examination for candidates who attended the Bapu Examination Centre, as well as for the main exam scheduled for April 2025.
The results of the 70th BPSC examination are expected to be announced by the last week of January 2025.
Regarding the recent cane charge on protesting students, Singh expressed regret but clarified that the area around the BPSC office is a prohibited zone for protests.
"The district administration has designated Gardanibagh as the appropriate location for protests, where students must adhere to the established guidelines," he added.
Singh reiterated that the BPSC is dedicated to ensuring that the examination process continues smoothly while managing protests in accordance with legal and order protocols.
