BPSC Reschedules Exam to January 4 in Patna

Patna, Dec 20 (NationPress) The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has revealed the revised date for the 70th Combined Competitive Examination, which was called off at the Bapu Examination Centre in Patna on December 13 due to a significant uproar, as confirmed by officials.
The examination will now take place on January 4.
A notification regarding this change was issued on December 19, 2024, by the office of the Examination Controller of BPSC.
The commission indicated that this decision was taken to safeguard the interests of the candidates and to ensure a fair and smooth examination process.
Candidates who were impacted by the cancellation are encouraged to remain informed through official BPSC communications and prepare diligently for the new examination date.
On December 13, a large group of candidates caused turmoil at the Bapu Examination Centre located in the Kumhrar locality, raising concerns about allegations of a paper leak and delays in the distribution of question papers.
Consequently, the police registered a case against 50 to 60 unidentified youths at the Agam Kuan police station following a complaint lodged by the duty magistrate present at the examination centre.
Due to this uproar, the BPSC cancelled the examination at the Bapu Examination Centre, which had nearly 12,000 candidates assigned. However, only 5,500 candidates were able to submit their OMR sheets successfully.
The examination was held at 912 centres across Bihar, but only the Bapu Examination Centre in Patna experienced cancellation.
In the meantime, Patna police have made progress in this case and have arrested an individual on charges of inciting disorder during the 70th BPSC Combined Examination held at the Bapu Examination Centre on December 13.
The arrested individual, identified as Manish Kumar from Jagatpur in Supaul district, was allegedly involved in creating chaos during the examination.
Patna Deputy Superintendent of Police Atulesh Jha confirmed the arrest and stated that several question papers that went missing from the examination hall were recovered from Manish Kumar.
"We reviewed the CCTV footage from the Bapu Examination Centre and identified the alleged candidate, Manish Kumar. The missing question papers were found in his possession along with an Android mobile phone," Jha mentioned.
