Bihar: Two Additional Candidates Arrested for Disturbance During BPSC Examination

Patna, Dec 25 (NationPress) Patna Police apprehended two candidates for their alleged participation in creating a disturbance at the Bapu Examination Centre during the BPSC examination on December 13, an official reported on Tuesday. This incident marks the third arrest in connection with this case.
According to Patna City SDPO Atulesh Jha, the individuals identified as Ashwini Kumar from Rohtas and Mohammad Faiyaz from Samastipur were recognized after an analysis of CCTV footage from the examination venue.
“The footage showed the duo leaving the examination hall and stirring unrest by falsely asserting that the exam was cancelled, which led to a significant disturbance. Both individuals now face criminal charges due to their actions,” Jha stated.
Jha elaborated on the situation, confirming that although Ashwini Kumar and Mohammad Faiyaz had no previous criminal records, they have been charged under cognizable offences due to the disruption they caused at the Bapu Examination Centre during the BPSC examination.
Furthermore, two additional candidates who were present at the centre on that day are currently being interrogated.
“The investigation has also raised concerns about the possible involvement of certain coaching institutes. We are examining this issue closely and have made it clear that any coaching institute found to be involved in inciting the chaos will face severe penalties. The police are continuing their investigation to uncover the complete scope of the incident and any external influences,” he added.
Previously, on December 19, Patna Police arrested an individual for causing a disturbance during the 70th BPSC Combined Examination held at the Bapu Examination Centre in the Kumhrar area of Patna on December 13.
This arrested individual, identified as Manish Kumar from Jagatpur in Supaul district, was allegedly involved in creating chaos during the examination.
Following the disturbance at the Bapu examination centre, a First Information Report (FIR) was filed at the Agam Kuan police station based on a complaint from the duty magistrate of the examination venue. After this FIR, Patna Police conducted an investigation and arrested the accused based on technical evidence.
On December 13, several candidates caused a commotion at the Bapu Examination Centre, alleging a paper leak and delays in the distribution of question papers. In light of this, police filed a case against approximately 50 to 60 unidentified youths.
