Authorities suspect that during their investigation into the disturbance at the 70th BPSC Combined Examination at the Bapu Examination Centre in Kumhrar, Patna, Manish Kumar, along with accomplices, may have conspired to leak the examination papers.
Manish Kumar is presently undergoing questioning, and the police are actively pursuing other individuals potentially involved in this incident.
On December 13, a number of candidates created a ruckus at the Bapu Examination Centre, alleging a paper leak and delays in the distribution of question papers.
In response to this chaos, authorities have filed cases against 50 to 60 unidentified individuals.
The upheaval resulted in the BPSC canceling the examination at the Bapu Examination Centre, where approximately 12,000 candidates were scheduled to take the test. However, only 5,500 candidates successfully submitted their OMR sheets.
The examination took place at 912 centres across Bihar, but only the Bapu Examination Centre in Patna faced cancellation.
This incident has led to widespread protests, with numerous candidates staging a sit-in demonstration at Gardanibagh, demanding the cancellation of the examination.
The situation has heightened tensions among candidates, raising concerns regarding the integrity of the examination process.
Protestors are associating the disorder at the Bapu examination centre with a possible question paper leak, and they suspect that well-known coaching centres may be implicated in the turmoil at this examination centre, prompting calls for a CBI inquiry into the issue.
