Hyderabad, Dec 4 (NationPress) K. T. Rama Rao, the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), accused the Congress government in Telangana of orchestrating a massive land "scam" worth Rs 5 lakh crore under the guise of the Hyderabad Industrial Land Transformation Policy.
Rao asserted that lands previously allocated by the government to foster industrial job creation are now being transferred to private individuals.
KTR, as he is commonly known, conducted a field visit to the Jeedimetla industrial zone to investigate the Hyderabad Industrial Land Transformation Policy (HILTP) for the party.
During his visit, he engaged with workers and encouraged them to oppose the "looting" by the administration.
He further alleged that the government is reallocating industrial lands for the construction of apartments, villas, and commercial spaces, signaling a shift away from supporting industries.
KTR, along with fellow BRS members, participated in a rally against HILTP, holding a placard that read, "India's biggest scam! Rs 5 lakh crores".

Labeling Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy as a "corruption Anaconda", KTR accused him of conspiring to sell these lands to benefit "Delhi leaders".
The state government has recently issued a Government Order (GO) to implement HILTP, aiming to transform industrial land within and adjacent to the Outer Ring Road (ORR) into productive urban areas.
The GO noted that many industries established 50 to 60 years ago have become nonviable or have ceased operations for various reasons.
Another cited issue is that some industrial units are categorized as polluting and need to be relocated.
KTR remarked, "There is no land for houses, schools, hospitals, and even cemeteries in Hyderabad city, yet the government claims it will allocate 9,300 acres to private entities."
He expressed concern that the government's actions could jeopardize the livelihoods of hundreds of workers reliant on industrial units.
The BRS leaders are visiting various industrial sites to inform the public about the alleged "scam".
He mentioned, "These visits aim to uncover the facts regarding the land prices being offered to private individuals by the Congress party."
KTR announced plans for an all-party meeting to discuss the alleged HILTP scam and intends to educate communities through roundtable discussions.
