Hyderabad, April 11 (NationPress) The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has sought permission from the Telangana High Court following the refusal from the state government for its silver jubilee public meeting planned at Elkathurthy, close to Warangal, on April 27.

The BRS has submitted a petition urging the court to direct the state government to permit the public meeting.

The primary opposition party informed the court that the public meeting is slated to occur from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on April 27.

The court has taken up the petition for hearing and rescheduled the case for April 17 for further discussions.

The BRS's legal representative highlighted that the public meeting is part of the party's silver jubilee celebrations.

The BRS named the Home Secretary, Warangal Police Commissioner, and Kazipet Assistant Police Commissioner as the respondents in the case.

The legal counsel representing the Home Department requested an extension until April 21 to submit a counter-affidavit. Nevertheless, the court granted time only until April 17 to facilitate the party's preparations for the public meeting.

BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao indicated on Tuesday that the party would approach the court if the police continued to deny permission for the public meeting.

“Our leaders in Warangal have already contacted the local ACP for permission. I personally spoke to the DGP, and there is no valid reason for permission to be denied,” K.T. Rama Rao stated.

He assured that the public meeting would be conducted in a location that minimizes traffic disruptions and public inconvenience.

The BRS leader mentioned that the venue covers 1,200 acres and appropriate arrangements for parking will be made.

The party has requested 3,000 buses from the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC). Given that March 27 falls on a Sunday— a holiday for students— the BRS believes the event will not cause any inconvenience.

BRS President K. Chandrasekhar Rao personally oversaw preparations with leaders and representatives from all 33 districts. Committees have been established to manage the event.

“This will be one of the largest gatherings in our party’s history, comparable to the significant Warangal meeting held earlier,” K.T. Rama Rao emphasized.
