Hyderabad, Feb 19 (NationPress) The President of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), K. Chandrasekhar Rao, expressed strong optimism that his party will regain power in Telangana.
During an extended party executive meeting at Telangana Bhavan, the former Chief Minister urged party leaders and members to advocate for the people's rights.
KCR, as he is widely known, criticized the Congress government, asserting that it has failed on multiple fronts.
The BRS leader expressed disappointment that the state of Telangana, achieved after prolonged struggle, is currently falling behind. He called for party members to rally with renewed vigor to empower Telangana.
After a seven-month hiatus from the BRS headquarters, KCR emphasized that the BRS is uniquely positioned to champion the cause of Telangana. "Only BRS understands the challenges faced by the citizens. We are certain to return to power," asserted KCR, whose party lost to Congress in November 2023 after governing for two consecutive terms.
The BRS chief elaborated on the party's inception 24 years ago, aimed at revitalizing the statehood movement, highlighting nearly a decade of effective governance and the initiatives undertaken for the state's growth.
The meeting addressed the “anti-people policies” implemented by the Congress government, a membership campaign, the upcoming silver jubilee celebrations of the party’s establishment, and organizational development.
KCR directed party members to prepare for a year-long celebration of the party's silver jubilee, announcing the formation of a sub-committee to oversee the festivities.
He reassured party members of his commitment to strengthening the organization. A meeting of BRS delegates is set for April 10, followed by a significant public gathering on April 27.
He declared that the membership campaign will occur from April 10 to April 27, leading to the establishment of organizational committees. The election for the party President is scheduled for October-November.
KCR asserted that the current political climate favors the BRS and urged party leaders and workers to diligently prepare for upcoming local elections.
He clarified that the BRS is resilient and will not be shaken by a single defeat, reminding party leaders of the challenges faced in the creation of Telangana.
KCR expressed confidence that by-elections will occur in 10 Assembly constituencies due to BRS MLAs defecting to Congress.
He claimed that the popularity of the Congress government is declining among the populace and predicted it will not recover.
Declaring that the future is bright for the BRS, he mentioned plans to appoint a President for the women’s wing and allocate 53 Assembly seats for women. He anticipated that delimitation will increase the number of Assembly seats from the current 119 to 160.

KCR reaffirmed that the BRS remains a secular party devoted to its secular principles. He encouraged party members to prepare for a year-long series of protests to expose the government’s “anti-people” policies.
BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao informed the media post-meeting that during the extensive five-hour session, 30 leaders contributed their insights to KCR.
They discussed the distressing issues of suicides among farmers, auto drivers, students, and builders during the meeting.
