Is Telangana Still the Sole Focus of BRS, Questions KTR?

Hyderabad, April 27 (NationPress) The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has its singular emphasis on Telangana, declared its working president K. T. Rama Rao on Sunday, just prior to the party's silver jubilee festivities and public gathering.

KTR raised the BRS flag at the party headquarters, Telangana Bhavan, before heading to the public event at Elkathurthy in Hanamkonda district.

He emphasized, "When our party embarked on its journey 25 years ago, Telangana was the only agenda, and it continues to be so."

KTR remarked, "Post the formation of Telangana state, BRS has been tirelessly focused on its advancement.

KTR, along with fellow party officials, paid homage to the martyrs of Telangana at Gun Park and honored Telangana Talli, ideologue Professor Jayashankar, and freedom fighter Konda Lakshman Bapuji.

During his speech, the BRS leader noted that Konda Laxman Bapuji and Professor Jayashankar served as the driving force behind the Telangana movement and the party’s evolution.

He also highlighted that the guidance of K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) has been crucial in the party’s journey over the past 25 years.

While paying respects at Konda Laxman Bapuji's statue at Tank Bund, KTR recalled that the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) originated at Jala Drushyam in that very region.

The TRS, established by KCR in 2001 to rejuvenate the movement for Telangana statehood, rebranded as BRS in 2022.

KTR mentioned that the party started with just one individual and, with the backing of thousands, Telangana achieved statehood.

He expressed hope that, with the blessings of martyrs and elders, BRS would continue to serve the Telangana society for another 25 years.

In a recent post on 'X', the BRS working president noted that as a party born from a movement, BRS secured Telangana state, and now, as an opposition, it advocates for the people.

KTR affirmed that BRS has treated every responsibility given by the Telangana society as a sacred obligation with unwavering dedication.

He expressed gratitude to all who have supported BRS under KCR's leadership and pledged to uphold the party’s flag.

Former Chief Minister KCR is set to address a significant public gathering scheduled for Sunday evening.

The party has made extensive preparations for this meeting, marking the first major display of strength since losing power to Congress in 2023 after a decade-long rule in India’s youngest state.

The public gathering is being organized in a vast area of 1,213 acres, which includes the main stage, parking, and other facilities. The main stage, spanning 154 acres, is designed to host 500 dignitaries.

Thousands of attendees are being mobilized for the event from all corners of the state.

The party has arranged 10 lakh water bottles and 16 lakh buttermilk packets, deployed six ambulances along various routes, and set up 1,200 temporary toilets for public convenience.

The assembly will commence at 5 p.m. with flag hoisting, followed by tributes to Telangana Talli and martyrs, concluding with KCR's speech.

BRS leaders raised the party flags in their respective villages across Telangana before departing for Hanamkonda.
