Jammu, May 9 (NationPress) Following the neutralization of drones and low-range missiles targeting defense installations in Jammu, Samba, R.S. Pura, and surrounding areas by vigilant troops, an infiltration attempt by terrorists, supported by Pakistan forces, was thwarted in the Samba district along the International Border.

A representative from the BSF reported that a significant infiltration effort from across the International Border was successfully repelled at approximately 11 p.m. on Thursday night.

The intruding terrorists were compelled to retreat back into Pakistan, the representative noted.

In a tragic incident, a woman lost her life and another sustained injuries due to heavy mortar shelling by Pakistan on civilian areas in the Uri sector of Baramulla district late Thursday night.

Officials indicated that a vehicle traveling from Razerwani to Baramulla was struck by a shell fired from across the Line of Control (LoC) near Mohura.

The deceased was identified as Nargis Begum, while another woman, Hafeeza Begum, was injured.
