Jammu, Feb 26 (NationPress) An unidentified intruder was neutralized as the Border Security Force (BSF) thwarted an infiltration attempt along the International Border (IB) in Pathankot on Wednesday.

The BSF reported: "On February 26, during the early hours, our personnel detected suspicious movement across the IB in BOP Tashpatan, Pathankot area, where an intruder was seen crossing the border. Our vigilant troops confronted the intruder, but he ignored their warnings and continued to advance."

"Recognizing the potential threat, our troops took decisive action and neutralized the intruder," stated the BSF.

The BSF is currently determining the identity and motive of the intruder.

"Our alert BSF personnel successfully thwarted this infiltration attempt. A strong protest will be lodged with Pak Rangers," the BSF declared.

Recently, there have been multiple confrontations between terrorists and security forces throughout Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the elimination of numerous terrorists and their leaders, even as Pakistan escalates its infiltration attempts along the LoC and attempts to deliver weapon consignments.

There have been several reports of weapons being dropped by drones from Pakistan near the international border in Jammu for use by terrorists operating in Jammu and Kashmir.

The BSF has successfully recovered various weapon caches in recent times, disrupting the plans of terrorists and their associates across the border.

While the army remains vigilant against infiltration attempts at the LoC, terrorist activities are now spreading to other regions of Jammu and Kashmir, including areas that were previously considered militancy-free, such as the Chenab Valley, Udhampur, and Kathua.

The ongoing anti-terror operations in Kashmir have driven terrorists into the mountains, where they lie in wait for opportunities to attack security forces.

Experts suggest that a comprehensive strategy is essential to address the rising militancy in Jammu, which includes improved intelligence gathering and enhanced coordination among security forces.
