Cab Driver Detained for Allegedly Assaulting Four-Year-Old Nursery Student in Ranchi

Ranchi, Dec 19 (NationPress) A disturbing incident of sexual assault involving a four-year-old nursery boy at a private school in Ranchi has come to light, prompting police to apprehend the cab driver accused of the crime under the Pocso Act.

However, the child's mother claims that she faced significant challenges for two days while attempting to file an FIR with the authorities.

Moreover, she alleges that the school administration has failed to respond to her complaints.

The incident occurred in the BIT Mesra Outpost area of Ranchi, where the young student reportedly informed his family about the inappropriate behavior of the school cab driver.

After the child disclosed the incident, his mother approached the school principal, but he allegedly took no action.

Subsequently, she visited the BIT Mesra outpost to file her complaint.

The mother states that she had to endure a lengthy process, with her child's statement being recorded multiple times at the police outpost.

Although an FIR was eventually registered, no action was taken regarding the alleged negligence of the school authorities.

She expressed her belief that the police are attempting to protect the school management.

Ujjwal Prakash Tiwari, a member of the Jharkhand State Child Protection Commission, mentioned that the commission is aware of the incident. “The commission will take appropriate action regarding this matter,” he stated.

Earlier this month, following the viral circulation of a video depicting the molestation of minor female students in Ranchi, Chief Minister Hemant Soren instructed police to act swiftly. Consequently, the accused, Firoz, was arrested and imprisoned. As a result of this incident, six police officers have faced suspension due to allegations of negligence.
