Kolkata, March 25 (NationPress) The Calcutta High Court has instructed the West Bengal Police to present the case diary concerning the enigmatic death of dancer and event management expert Sutandra Chattopadhyay. She tragically lost her life in an incident last month, reportedly while attempting to flee from a group of intoxicated youths pursuing her vehicle.

Initially, the state police insisted that her death was merely an accident triggered by an overtaking maneuver involving two cars, dismissing claims that Chattopadhyay's vehicle was being chased. In response, her mother, Tanushree Chattopadhyay, petitioned the high court for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her daughter's demise.

The case was reviewed by Justice Tirthankar Ghosh on Tuesday, who mandated the police to submit the case diary before the next hearing scheduled for next month.

On the morning of February 24 this year, Chattopadhyay died in an accident on the National Highway at Panagarh in the West Burdwan district. The driver of her vehicle accelerated and maneuvered to evade a group of drunken individuals pursuing them in another car.

Despite testimonies from fellow passengers to both law enforcement and media, officials maintained that the accident occurred due to the driver's loss of control while attempting to overtake.

Chattopadhyay's mother has asserted that the investigation appears biased, possibly aimed at protecting the youths involved, likely due to their influential background. She has sought judicial intervention to ensure her daughter receives justice.

Believing there is a hidden truth behind her daughter’s death, the mother alleged that the investigators seemed intent on concealing information or safeguarding certain individuals involved.

Currently, only one individual, Bablu Yadav, the owner of the vehicle reportedly chasing Chattopadhyay’s car, has been detained. Yadav is a local businessman who was behind the wheel on the day of the incident.
