Patna, Feb 19 (NationPress) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is ramping up its inquiry into the mysterious death of a NEET student from Patna.

On Thursday, a five-member CBI team, which included a female inspector, visited Jehanabad for the third time as part of their ongoing investigation.

This time, they visited the village where the student’s maternal uncle resides, located under the Makhdumpur police station jurisdiction.

Family members were interrogated for several hours.

Previously, on February 17, the CBI had also visited the same village, where they questioned the student’s parents, brother, sister-in-law, grandmother, and aunt in detail.

During that earlier visit, the brother's mobile phone was confiscated.

Following this, investigators learned that the phone had been sent to a shop in Makhdumpur for repairs.

When the team first arrived at the shop, it was found to be closed. Eventually, the mobile phone was recovered from a nearby paan shop.

Sources indicate that a forensic analysis of the phone may reveal important clues regarding the case.

According to reports, the CBI had summoned the student’s maternal uncle to Patna for questioning. However, after he did not show up, the investigation team opted to visit his village for questioning.

Earlier, on February 15, a 20-member CBI team, featuring senior officials of IG and SP rank, also made a visit to the village.

After extensive questioning, the team reportedly confiscated significant documents and materials that are relevant to the case.

The situation escalated on the night of February 14 when a threatening note was thrown at the student’s residence, warning of the murder of the entire family.

Two days later, another threatening message was uncovered, specifically targeting the student’s brother.

In light of these threats, the investigation has broadened from the girls’ hostel in Patna to the student's hometown, and most recently, to her maternal uncle's home.

With repeated site visits, confiscation of electronic evidence, and intimidation of family members, the case has entered a critical stage.

Sources suggest that several new and significant developments may surface in the coming days, potentially altering the trajectory of the investigation.

Point of View

The investigation into the death of the NEET student is crucial not only for the family involved but also for the broader community. The increased involvement of the CBI highlights the seriousness of the situation and underscores the need for a thorough and transparent investigation.
